Whole Steps Music and Arts offers music and arts lessons to children through adults.  Lessons are held at the newly built Whole Steps Music and Arts Studios located in Oakland, California

We want to create a learning environment for our students that establishes a foundation for life-long growth and appreciation for music and arts.

Our Philosophy

We believe that music and arts are essential for the development of a well-rounded individual.  Whole Steps Music and Arts approach is based on our belief that learning to play music and creating art should integrate fun and traditional fundamentals to result in an engaging experience for students of all ages.

Who We Are

Jim Sales is the founder and lead instructor for Whole Steps Music and Arts.  He has enjoyed playing instruments nearly all of his life and specializes in guitar.  Jim has played with various bands and music groups over the years, spanning different genres of music. He is currently playing in the Worship Team at East Hills Community Church.  He brings enthusiasm (with the proper dose of patience!) to teaching children through adults and helping them achieve their goal to unleash their hidden musical talents.

Angie Aquino-Sales is a partner in Whole Steps Music and Arts.  With a background in Organization Development and Human Resources, Angie manages the administration of Whole Steps including staff development, student orientations, and schedule management.
